The basic principle of fine distillation purification is to use the different boiling points between alcohol (ethanol) and water, and through heating, make the alcohol vapor evaporate before the water and be condensed and collected, thereby achieving the goal of purifying alcohol.
The boiling point of alcohol (78 degrees Celsius) is lower than that of water (100 degrees Celsius), so during the heating process, alcohol will evaporate before water. During the distillation process, the boiling point of the mixture of alcohol and water will increase with the increase of alcohol concentration, gradually approaching the boiling point of pure alcohol. During the distillation process, low boiling substances (such as alcohol) are first distilled, while high boiling substances (such as water) are later distilled. Through this method, high-purity alcohol can be effectively extracted from alcohol aqueous solutions.
